My fellow teachers! I know this year has been hard. But, you know what? You are amazing. Let me ask you a couple of questions. Who found resources for finishing off last years school year? You and all of your fellow teachers. Who was able to make the first few months of the 2020-2021 school year virtually? You guys. Who was able to find a browser to even do virtual school? You guys. You guys ROCK. Here are some tips and tricks for ways to keep your students looking alive, and ways to make sure you look alive, along with some fun classroom ideas, and even some cheesy jokes to warm up the tense atmosphere of what will be your classroom. To start off, here are some ways to get up in the morning and look great.
For elementary school teachers (K-5): For the younger children, such as K-2 or 3, you DO NOT want to look intimidating. Especially the third grade teachers. Third grade is where things start to get harder, so you want to look friendly and welcoming for if they have any problems or ideas. For the K-2 teachers, try to look funny, kind, and that you care about the students. They DO NOT want a uncaring teacher. This may be tricky to accomplish, since you and likely other teachers and students, will be wearing masks for most (or all) of the time. But, going back to the first paragraph, you can do it. Some tricks to keep your students looking alive: play some music. Not music that they feel they have to get up and dance to, or sing along to (singing is one of the best ways to spread covid), but classical, easy music. For the younger students, maybe something just a wee bit more upbeat. Now, for the fellow teachers. I know you are exhausted. Who isn’t, really? But you really need to look alive. For the lovely lady teachers; just a dab of concealer goes a long way. It covers up those dark circles (it also makes you look younger ;)).
More later for middle school teachers!
Over and out, CADY
